Hazard Spotting
This course is for anyone in a workplace environment and is intended to increase individuals' awareness of hazards, ability to identify hazards and understanding of the need for communication to control hazards and reduce accidents. The course would be particularly useful to Managers, Supervisors and Health and Safety Representatives.
By the end of the course, candidates will be expected to carry out practical inspections of the workplace, spot hazards and controls and to record their findings on simple forms.

The qualification covers the following topics:
- What are hazards?
- Why accidents occur
- How to inspect for hazards and the need for recording
- Control measures
- Practical hazard spotting exercise
