HACCP training

 

S.O.F.H.T.: Foundation HACCP


The Society of Food Hygiene Technology has launched a new Foundation Certificate in HACCP.

All food and drink businesses must operate a food safety management system based on Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP). Until now this has only been a legal requirement for certain food businesses, such as those in the meat processing industries.

 

Who should attend?

It is designed for all food handlers to assist them in the understanding of food safety controls put in place by their employers.

 

Course Content:

The qualification covers the following five modules:
• What is HACCP?
• Why HACCP is needed
• Benefits of HACCP
• The 7 Codex Principles of HACCP
• Maintenance of a HACCP system

 

Course Duration:

1 day

 

Assessment Method:

A short objective test of 10 questions

 

Entry Requirements:

None - Appropriate for all employees

 

Qualification:

Candidates complete their training by one of two examination options. Either S.O.F.H.T. Foundation HACCP certificate or they can take an accredited qualification route using The Royal Society for the Promotion of Health (R.S.P.H.) examination.

 

Suggested progression on completion:

C.I.E.H. Intermediate Certificate in Hazard Analysis Principles and Practice
